Welcome to your 7-day Momecast™ – an event forecast for Moms (and Dads) of what to do and where to go throughout Westchester County; with the kids, without the kids and for the whole family! Below we have listed many fun and unique happenings for this week! Check back often as we update on the regular.

Tuesday, February 16 – Friday, February 19:

1 – 4pm: School’s Out, Stars Are In Planetarium shows and workshops included with the cost of Museum admission for students on school break. Participants must be accompanied by a caregiver. Part of the Saw Mill River was buried under a parking lot until five years ago. Brought into the daylight, it is now a living river in Van der Donck Park at Larkin Plaza in Downtown Yonkers. Design and take home a river park where you place trees, benches, a playground. Add fish and plants to your “daylighted” waterway. Star Shows: 12:30pm: One World, One Sky, 2pm: The Sky Tonight, 3:30pm: Undiscovered Worlds.

Wednesday, February 17 – Thursday, February 18:

Wednesday – Thursday at 11am: Annie Let’s go to the movies – to see Annie with the family! When you’re stuck in a day that’s gray and lonely, Annie puts a smile on your face and a tap in your step, even an uptight all-business Daddy Warbucks can’t resist the charm. Scrappy girls and stray muts prevail, the hard-knock life is more virtuous then Easy Street, and we’re all dancing for joy that We Got Annie! Reserve seats for just $1-3 each, which will be donated to local non-profit Youth Theater Interactions! Alamo Drafthouse Cinema, Yonkers.

Thursday, February 18:

11am – 12:30pm: Kid’s Class Candy Man While we welcome painters of any age, we recommend people ages 7 and older for this painting. Artists provide assistance to painters, but younger painters might need the help of their guardian. Recommended for ages 12 and under. $25 per child. Painting with a Twist, Scarsdale.

7pm: RiverTalks are presentations lead by various experts about historical, cultural or environmental aspects of the Hudson River Valley. Each event includes refreshments, a featured presentation and discussion. Enjoy an evening of smart conversation in our spacious interpretive center along the Hudson River. Click here for more info. Thursday, February 18 – Sunday, February 21:

{PTO} Thursday at 11:15am and 6:15pm, Friday- Saturday at 6:15pm and Sunday at 11:45am: Always Patsy Cline The show is based on a true story about Cline’s friendship with a fan from Houston named Louise Seger, who befriended the star in a Texas honky-tonk in l961. Through letters and visits, the two share the homespun stories of laughter and heartache that brought together a housewife and a legendary country singer. This fun-loving, crowd-pleasing musical complete with down home country humor, true emotion and even some audience participation, features 27 classic songs, including “Crazy,” “Walkin’ After Midnight,” “I Fall to Pieces,” “Sweet Dreams,” “Back In Baby’s Arms” and more. Runs until 2/28. Dinner and show $59 – $84 plus tax. Show only tickets $50. Westchester Broadway Theatre, Elmsford.

Friday, February 19:

Saturday, February 20:

10am – 2pm: Sugar House Chat The evaporator will be producing nature’s sweet reward, maple syrup. Trailside Museum, Cross River.

11am – 12:30pm: Mother/Daughter Painting All family members are welcome to paint with their children. If you don’t wish to paint, you may sit with your child if seating permits. We ask that you allow your children to discover their own creativity and not help them to “correct” their painting. Applaud their effort and encourage their journey! Arrive 15-20 min early to get smocked and in your seat! You are invited to bring your own finger foods in case you get hungry during the break. $25 per family. Painting with a Twist, Scarsdale.

{National} 12 – 2pm: Quest to Power Up Visit any US Toys “R” Us store for a Lego Nexo Knights building event! Build and take home an exclusive build and join the quest to collect up to 7 Nexo powers in the store!

2pm: Feeding Fun Mealtime for our animals! Come see what’s on the menu and learn how we keep our critters healthy. $8 per non-member. Greenburgh Nature Center, Greenburg.

2pm: Starting Seeds Indoors Learn the timing and techniques for starting your garden transplants indoors from seed. Everyone will take home seeds they plant in the class. Free. Lasdon Park, Katonah.

8pm: Martha Graham Dance Company Now in its 90th anniversary season, the company founded by the great Martha Graham continues to carry on her legacy. The program will include classic works by Graham as well as a sneak peek at a newly commissioned work by by Pontus Lidberg. The Performing Arts Center at Purchase College, Purchase.

1pm: Westchester Knicks vs. Iowa Energy Westchester County Center, White Plains.

1 – 3pm: Maple Sugarin’ Join us in the sugar house to learn the history of maple sugaring as well as see how sap turns into syrup. Reoccurs on 2/28. Muscoot Farm, Katonah.

2pm: Winter Survival Basics The winter is certainly one of the daunting times of year to know how to survive in the wild. The program will go over some of the basic strategies and biggest concerns or staying alive in the wilderness during cold. Dress for the weather, wear sturdy hiking shoes and bring of water. Ages: 14 and up. $5 per person. Westmoreland Sanctuary, Mount Kisco.

2 – 3pm: Bird Feeders Make your own bird feeder to take home for your backyard. Cranberry Lake Preserve, North White Plains.

2 – 3:30pm: Winter Adventure Series: Bluebird Boxes Build a home for bluebirds to put up in your neighborhood. Limit one per family. Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult. Marshlands Conservancy, Rye.

3pm: Decoda is a chamber ensemble comprised of virtuoso musicians, entrepreneurs, and passionate advocates of the arts. We are thrilled that they’re back for their fourth consecutive season; expect another unforgettable afternoon of carefully selected repertoire played with matchless musical fervor.
