Tuesdays – Wednesdays (until 8/19) at 10am: Free Summer Movies Bowtie Cinemas offers free movies for kids. Seating limited to theatre capacity, tickets issued on a first come, first serve basis. Free for kids. Select Bowtie Cinemas.

Tuesdays – Wednesdays at 10am: Summer Movie Express Admission to the Summer Movie Express is only $1. Tickets available for purchase at the box office and all movies start at 10am and are rated G or PG. A portion of the proceeds goes to the Will Rogers Institute. Select Regal Cinemas.

Tuesday, July 28 – Thursday, July 30:

Tuesday – Thursday from 10am – 12pm and 1 – 3pm: Free YouthSpark Summer Camps at Microsoft Kids ages 8 and older get hands-on experience with the latest technology as they learn how to code, create games, and use their creativity and imagination. This summer’s four camps are all-new, with two designed for coding beginners and two for intermediates looking to take their skills to the next level with Project Spark, Kodu, and TouchDevelop, and more. Each camp run four consecutive days, and last two hours per day. While your child is in camp, parents can learn about online safety for their kids, try out a Surface 3, get a PC tune-up, and more. Please note: The parent, legal guardian or authorized adult caregiver of every camp participant under 18 must sign a Participation Agreement on the first day of camp and remain in the Microsoft store for the duration of the event. Tuesday, July 28:

Tuesdays at 10 – 11:30am: Storytime Join us each week for story time as we read aloud some of your favorite books. Become a book club member and receive a special gift after attending five-story times. Free. Pottery Barn Kids locations.

Tuesday at 7pm: Get Pop-Cultured: What Pet Should We Get? In celebration of the newest from Dr. Seuss, fans of all ages are invited to help us decide what pet we should get. Storytime with activities to follow. Select Barnes & Noble locations.

Wednesday, July 29:

Wednesdays (until 7/29) at 10am: Bookworm Wednesdays featuring How to Train Your Dragon 2 Just bring a book report with you to the select Bookworm Wednesdays movie and that’s your price of admission! Download the Book Report by clicking here. Children under six who accompany a participant and adults who accompany a participant receive free admittance to the Bookworm Wednesdays movie and do not need to submit a book report. Wednesday at 5pm: Speed Build Challenge Participate in a Lego Minifigure Speed Build Challenge! See if you can build the most Lego Minifigures in one minute. The fastest builder will win a Build A Minifigure 3-pack! Plus, bring your passport book to receive a special stamp. This event will begin at 5pm and is open to children ages 6–14 only. Wednesday at 5 – 7pm: Dancing at Dusk: Greek Dancing Explore rebetiko (Greek blues) as well as other styles and regional genres of Greek music hailing from the islands to the mountains. Learn the variety of Greek musical structure using straight and odd meters, and try moving to them! Don’t worry, dance instructor Maria Sopasis will show you how. Adults $10, Children $5. Wednesdays (until 8/26) from 5:30 – 7pm: Riverwalk Wednesday Summer Kids Series What in the world is that, way up in the sky? A Bird? A Plane? A Unicorn? A Unicorn-Pegasus! No… It’s Play Date, the award winning children band.  Soaring through time and space to win the hearts of kids, parents and magical creatures everywhere. Play Date has won numerous awards, including the Parents’ Choice Award and Creative Child’s 2014 Seal of Excellence Award.  So grab a friend, tune your imagination to the key of awesome and buckle up before we take off – it’s time for Play Date! Wednesdays (until 8/12) from 7 – 9pm: Weekly Concerts: Jill Gioia Grab your family, friends, beach chair and blanket and head to The Green in the center of the mall to enjoy our free outdoor concerts throughout the summer! Bands will perform a variety of music genres from latin and R&B to the 60’s and girl power, classic rock & roll and top 40, plus much more! Concerts take place on the main stage in the center of the mall, near AX Armani Exchange. Cross County Shopping Center, Yonkers.

Wednesdays (until 8/12) from 7 – 9pm: Dancing Under the Stars Dust off those dancing shoes and dance the night away. This fun-filled free event is open to all dancing Queens and Kings. Any rain cancellations will be held the weeks following. Renaissance Plaza, White Plains.

Wednesdays (until 7/29) at sundown: Family Film Frenzy See a hit movie and go for a swim as the popular “Family Film Frenzy” series, featuring outdoor movies and after-hours swimming, kicks off this July! The park opens at 7 p.m. for after-hours swimming, picnicking, and relaxing. The movie begins at sundown. Bring your own picnic, or purchase food at the concession stand. For seating, bring blankets and chairs. Admission is $5 per person (free for children under 5) and includes the movie only. A Westchester County Park Pass is not required for admission. Admission wristbands will go on sale the day of the event at each location and will be sold on a first-come, first-served basis while supplies last. Saxon Woods Pool, White Plains.

Thursday, July 30:

Thursdays (until 8/27) from 10am – 5pm: Through a Child’s Perspective Timed tours are at: 10:30am, 11:30am, 1:30pm, 2:30pm and 3:30pm. Parents and children are invited to travel back to the 19th century and view the home of Washington Irving through a child’s eyes. Explore Sunnyside as a family home, and before or after your tour, play games, try on period clothing and participate in hands-on-activities. Families are encouraged to bring a picnic lunch and make a day of it. $12; $6 for children 317. Historic Hudson Valley, Pocantico Hills.

Thursdays from 12 – 2pm: Noon Day Concerts at Renaissance Plaza in White Plains.

Thursdays (until 8/28) from 5 – 7pm: Free Kayaking at JFK Marina and Park in Yonkers.

Thursdays (until 9/24) from 6:30 – 8:30pm: Summer Concert Series Bring your own chair and enjoy local and live entertainments, giveaways, prizes and much more! The Shops at Nanuet, Nanuet.

Thursdays (until 8/20) from 6:30 – 8:30pm: Poolside Summer Pairing Series Castle Hotel & Spa is hosting its 2nd annual Poolside Summer Pairing Series at Equus. Enjoy tastings of an eclectic group of wine, spirits and scrumptious food, along with a gorgeous poolside ambiance and a spectacular castle as your backdrop. Event prices start at $68 per person. Fridays at 8pm: Friday Night Music Cocomama brings it! A world of musical and cultural backgrounds set upon Afro-Cuban, Jazz, Caribbean and South American traditions to throw down Latin fusion original music. Fierce and beautiful! Gates open at 7:30pm. Friday at 8pm: As Seen on Comedy Central See your favorite comedians from your favorite TV shows live at the Paramount Hudson Valley “As Seen on TV-Comedy Series” for just $25. Comedians Rob Falcone from Orange is the New Black , Gossip Girl, and Life on Mars, Kevin Meaney from 30 Rock, & Gotham Comedy Live. Hosted by Tom McTiernan. Fridays at sundown: Fireworks Every Friday in July and August spectacular fireworks displays are choreographed to music beginning July 3. Fireworks are shot off from our Pier on these Special Event Days. Playland, Rye.

Saturdays – Sundays from 11am – 3pm: Free Crafts for Kids Kids can make a Father’s Day craft for Dad. Ages 3 and up. Free. Lakeshore Learning Center locations.

Saturday – Sunday: Museums on Us Bank of America Cardholders can get in free to participating museums.

{Reoccurs} Saturday at 7:30pm and Sunday at 1pm: All Shook Up It’s 1955, where one girl’s dream and a surprise visit from a guitar-playing, mysterious leather-jacketed stranger helps a small town to discover the magic of romance and the power of rock & roll. It’s a hip-swiveling, lip-curling musical fantasy that will have you jumpin’ out of your blue suede shoes with such classics as “Heartbreak Hotel,” “Jailhouse Rock,” and “Don’t Be Cruel.” $1928. Saturday, August 1:

Saturday from 9 11am: The Botany of Seed Saving Be a part of a community seed system! In three short classes, learn everything you need to know to harvest seeds from your favorite plants. Class discussion focuses on vegetable seeds, but is appropriate for those who want to collect seeds from ornamental and native plants as well. Gardening starts with seeds. Why not collect and save your own?  $30 per class. Today, we focus on The Botany of Seed Saving. John Jay Homestead State Historic Site, Katonah.

Saturday from 9am – 12pm: Chalkboard Door Hanger Come learn how to make a chalkboard door hanger. Free hands-on workshops; designed for children ages 5 – 12. All kids get to keep their craft, receive a free certificate of achievement, a Workshop Apron, and a commemorative pin while supplies last. Home Depot locations.

Saturday at 10am – 3pm: Sand Castle Competition Grab your pails and shovels, put together a team, and enjoy a day of fun in the sun against the scenic backdrop of Long Island Sound. While sand castles are welcome, participants are encouraged to create any type of sand sculpture or figure they would like. Judges will be looking for creativity, height, technical difficulty and use of space. Participants must bring their own shovels, pails and building tools. Registration will run from 10am to 10:30am. Building will begin at 11am and run through 3pm. Judging will take place between 3:30pm and 4pm. Winners will be announced at 4 pm. Prizes will be awarded to the first, second and third place winning teams, and all teams will receive a token for participating. Registration fee is $10 per entry and is payable on the day of the event. Space is limited and registration will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. The contest is open to Westchester residents only, and proof of residency must be provided with a Westchester County Park Pass or a New York State driver’s license. Daily parking and beach admission fees will apply. Rain date for the competition is Sunday, August 2. Glen Island Park, New Rochelle.

Saturdays at 10am: Kids Cooking Class Tomatoes are ripe and ready for eating and cooking this summer! Join us and learn to make some delicious dishes that are sure to impress your family. Saturday from 10am – 11am: The Doctor Is In Erin Baker, Teatown educator and wildlife rehabilitator has her black bag ready to examine and treat your injured and sick stuffed animal pals! Children will also meet some of the wildlife that Erin has helped restore to health. Learn about how she cares for the sick and injured that come to our door! Children 37 with accompanying adult. Saturday at 11am: If You Ever Want to Bring an Alligator to School, Don’t! Bring in the little ones and enjoy a rousing tale of why it might not be a good idea to bring an alligator to school for show-and-tell! Activities to follow; all ages welcome. Select Barnes & Noble locations.

Saturday from 11am – 12:30pm: Doll Hair Do’s and Don’ts Learn how to brush, treat and style your doll’s hair. Watch styling demonstrations and learn techniques, practice them on your doll. Leave with a new hair style for your doll. Workshop is for girls ages 7 and up. All supplies included. Just bring your doll and your creativity. Saturdays (until 8/29) at 12pm: Guided Tour Like your tours with a more personal touch? Saturday from 12 – 9pm: Hudson Valley Exposition Enjoy a summer’s day at the festival and all the bounties and benefits of our region: music, arts, food, craft beer, wine, farmer’s markets and more. Saturday from 1 – 2:30 and 3 – 4:30pm: Ice Scream Social Party and play at My Gym Children’s Fitness Center, for a great cause! Games, rides, free play, tumbling, and more. Plus, Ice cream for everyone! This is a special event benefiting My Gym Challenged America. Sunday from 8 – 10pm: Special Needs Jump This Sunday we will be hosting our new community offering – jump time exclusively for special needs children and their caregiver. Two hours of “sensory friendly” jump time in a fun, friendly and comfortable environment. $15 for up to two hours for each child (price includes one caregiver per child). Sunday at 1pm: Free Family Movie: Willy Wonka & The Chocolate Factory Music Hall members are invited to join us for a Free Family Fun movie at The Music Hall! Sundays (until 9/20) from 2 – 4pmFun with Food and Science Sundays Every Sunday, from July to October, the Science Barge invites children for hands-on Art, Food, & Science workshops. Children and adults can cross the gangplank and come aboard the Barge for everything from building take-home hydroponic mini-greenhouses to veggie stamp printing. And, back by popular demand are Blue Crab Blitz days. Learn all about the crabs that you catch with Science Barge Director Bob Walters. So get your sea legs ready and come aboard.
